Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in working with Groton Community Meals (GCM). In a nutshell, GCM’s commitment is to provide a warm, healthy, often “made from scratch” meal to Groton community residents.

We offer meals on Mondays at the Thrive 55 (T55) (formerly Groton Senior Center), and a second meal on Wednesday at Thames River Magnet School (TRMS). These meals are created by our chef from the proteins and vegetables allotted to GCM by Gemma Moran, FoodShare of CT and donations from other local sources.

Our weekly challenge is to prepare a meal in a three hour window, serve it in one hour then clean up in one hour or less! What does it take from each member of the GCM mighty team in order to pull it off?
Simply being available to do whatever needs to be done within the amount of time one has agreed to give towards that goal! Flexibility and a sense of humor never hurt!

If you are ready to regularly commit a few hours to GCM’s goal, please consider filling an application and taking the online training offered on this site. We look forward to seeing you soon!
